Denitsa Sacheva is the chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy and the deputy chairman of the GERB-SDS parliamentary group in the 49th National Assembly.
Member of parliament from the previous four parliaments, and in the 48th National Assembly she was the deputy chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy.
She is a member of the Committee on Education and Science.
In the period from the end of 2019 to May 2021, she was the Minister of Labor and Social Policy in the third government of GERB. Previously, she was the Deputy Minister of Education and Science in the same cabinet.
Ms. Sacheva has a master’s degree in public relations from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication of SU “St. Kliment Ohridski”. She graduated with a master’s degree in health management at the University “Prof. Asen Zlatarov” in Burgas. Her bachelor’s degree is in social pedagogy from Southwestern University in Blagoevgrad.
She began her professional career at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, going through various positions – from expert to director of a directorate at the Agency for Social Assistance. Before 1999, she headed the international directorate at the National Health Insurance Fund. Between 1999 and 2001 she was the head of the office of the Minister of Health, being responsible for the relationship with the European institutions, the World Bank and the EC.
